As the 2025-26 school year kicks off, the 285 yearbook is already underway, and the senior class has a lot to look forward to in this upcoming edition. The 285 yearbook committee is made up of about thirty people who are all working so hard everyday in advisory, with the aid of Ms. Vashierrez, to make this year’s yearbook extra special. The staff includes three editor-in-chief positions, filled by Emma Glaser (285), Raghav Joshi (285), and Stella Leuzzi (285), along with editors in specialized areas, such as sports and art.
In an interview with the co-editors-in-chief, they said that their job was to manage about thirteen people each by giving them deadlines and making sure they’re met. They each have a few sections they are in charge of, for example the sports editors. Emma Glaser (285) said, “My job is to make sure everything is running smoothly.” They also help with any questions people on the committee have, which was shown when watching them actively assist editors. They are definitely doing their job well!
The editors-in-chief are all excited to be a part of the 285 yearbook, but faced nerves beforehand. When asked about why they applied to be an editor-in-chief, the common answer was that they didn’t actually apply for it, but Ms. Vashierrezz thought they were right for the role. Stella, who was encouraged to join the yearbook committee by the mock trial team said, “We were all scared by the responsibility of the editor-in-chief.”
When asked why she wanted to be part of the yearbook committee, Emma said, “The 283 yearbook was so cool. It was the first edition I took a look at, and all the seniors at the time told me [the] yearbook is a huge thing. Then I realized that was something I wanted to do. I was going to be sports editor, but [Ms. Vashierrez] asked me to be an editor-in-chief.” It is clear that everyone working on the yearbook this year has a huge passion for it. The editors-in-chief agreed that collaborating with all the different editors was one of the best parts of being on the yearbook committee, highlighting working with art editors on the design.
There will be a theme for the 285 yearbook, as always, but it is kept a secret until the yearbook is released in May. The editors-in-chief admitted that they have figured out what the theme will be, but insisted no one will know until the release.
Finally, here’s a message from the editors-in-chief to all of 285: “Be ready! Everybody is working so hard. We are a month in, and everyone is so excited to be here. It’s a great group, and we’re having so much fun!”
