Another season of the Central High School’s Science Olympiad has begun. 

Central High School’s Science Olympiad is a place and community for people who love, love, love science. It’s a place where students can compete with other teams with knowledge of a specific scientific category, conduct research alongside other CHS members, and test their limits.

A student in 286 from Central High School’s Science Olympiad said, “The Science Olympiad is like a place for me to explore what I am curious about. It’s a place where you can meet new people and work together to compete in challenges, creating like a mini-community. It combines many different sciences with other topics that you can explore, build, and test. It really pushes you to do more, as it offers you the freedom to do what you want. You can form friendships and learn many new skills.” Another member of the Science Olympiad community, Mariia A. (284) shared,  “Science Olympiad serves as an outlet for me to explore topics I was initially not interested in or struggling on, and look at them from a different lens. Somehow, no matter what, I end up with engineering-based events like Optics and Material Science. Despite not enjoying them initially, Science Olympiad allows me to explore these events at my own pace, slowly adding on genuine enjoyment.”

In Central High School’s Science Olympiad, we implement such strategies.  As we understand the studies and apply commitment, curiosity, and logic to whatever scientific category we choose, we also conduct research with strong teamwork and collaboration, where we study with our peers, come up with compelling ideas, and compete with other schools with the knowledge we study. Instilling a strong foundation for ourselves to become scientific leaders, Central High School’s Science Olympiad is a place of camaraderie and spirit, hands-on learning, and skills beyond science. So conduct research with us in Mr. Fitzgerald’s Science Olympiad on the fourth floor every Tuesday, where you can apply your love for science in a place that allows you to go beyond the limits through competition and teamwork!
